IT's quite amazing when children seems to remind you of the things you have taught them. I have the pleasure of taking my daughter to school every morning. I had a few moments to share with her while we were waiting in the drop off lane. She instantly said, let me kiss you now, I turned around and smiled, and received such an awesome kiss. I asked her, how was everything at her new school and was she getting along with her new found friend? She responded in such a way that it was like, a aha moment for me, She said mom.........long and drained out, but with so much sincerity. She said to me, we have a little difficulties here and there, and I said oh!!!!! I am sorry, she said for what? that's what true friends are for. You have problems, but you work through them, she said with such confidence, don't worry mom. It's ok, we always work out our problems, we always find a way. With the sun beaming on her face, she said mom don't worry have a good day! because I want to have a good day. As, I watched her walked into the doors of the school, tears of joy found its way down my face.
As adult we tend to forget our own words, that we have taught our children. Babes in Christ indeed, she reminded me of my friends, the ones I thought was my friends, the ones that are truly my friends. She help me to see, what I taught her and what Jesus taught me, Proverbs 22:6 states, Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.
I have had difficulties with my own struggles and couldn't figure out the pain of a lost friend or why I felt, I was abandoned or did I walk away? I guess the question I can ask myself, was that truly a friend? was I a true friend? Did I lose the meaning of true friendship? Yet, I was willling to forgive, nontheless was this a friendship that was able be mended?
Jesus said, A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. Proverbs 17;17
A babe in Christ reminded me that even though it gets rough or difficult, truly it will pass with love and understanding and forgiveness. Seek to forgive today, release your own faults and demons and open up to receive the love of a true and dear friend. Your first friend should be Jesus ,the one that loves in spite of, the one that loves you just the way you are. No flaws or disfuctions are to huge for Jesus. Be, the type of friend that Jesus is. The type of friend that forgives and loves and stand by you when your all messed up and confused about life.
Iron sharpens iron, So one man sharpen another. Proverbs 22:17
Have you sharpen your friend today, have you received their flaws and mistakes and turned them into words of joy and actions of love?
May you be blessed today!
